WELCOME TO THE ARDEHALI LAB

The Ardehali Lab studies the role of stem cells in cardiac development and disease and apply these principles to design novel therapies to regenerate the diseased myocardium. We use genetically modified mice as a model to understand cardiac development and pluripotent stem cells to get an insight into the mechanisms involved in differentiation and specification of cardiac precursors. We hope that our discoveries will advance the field of cell-based therapy for the treatment of heart disease and further elucidate pathways that can be exploited to minimize cardiomyocyte loss after injury.
